Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy describes how Plaintify LLC ("Plaintify," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information in connection with our website at plaintify.ai (the "Site"), our legal technology platform (the "Service"), our marketing activities, job applications, and other interactions with you (collectively, the "Services").
This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal information we process solely as a service provider on behalf of our business customers (e.g., case file data submitted by law firms for demand letter generation). Our handling of such information is governed by the subscription agreements we maintain with those customers.
SECTION 1 — PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
Contact information: first and last name, email address, phone number, professional title, bar number, and firm name.
Account information: login credentials, account preferences, and profile details.
Case and matter information: documents, data, text, images, and other content submitted through the Service, including contracts, correspondence, financial records, pleadings, and discovery materials ("Customer Input"). Note: Customer Input submitted by law firm customers is governed by subscription agreements, not this Privacy Policy, except as described herein.
Feedback and correspondence: information provided when you contact us with questions, feedback, support requests, feature suggestions, bug reports, or other communications.
Waitlist and registration information: information submitted through waitlist signup forms, demo requests, or event registrations.
Marketing preferences: your communication preferences and details about how you engage with our marketing materials.
Payment information: billing address, payment method details, and transaction history. Payment card data is processed by our third-party payment processors and is not stored on our systems.
1.2 Information We Collect from Third Parties
Business contact information from data providers, marketing partners, publicly available sources, and professional directories.
Social media information from our pages on platforms such as LinkedIn. When you interact with our social media pages, the platform's privacy policy applies to the platform's collection of your data. We treat information received from platforms in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Referral information from existing customers, partners, or other third parties who refer you to our Services.
1.3 Information Collected Automatically
We and our service providers automatically collect information about you, your devices, and your interactions with our Services, including:
Device data: operating system type and version, browser type, screen resolution, device type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language settings, and general location information (city, state, geographic area).
Online activity data: pages or screens viewed, time spent on pages, navigation paths, click patterns, scroll depth, feature interactions, search queries within the Service, access times, duration of sessions, and referring URLs.
Service usage data: feature engagement metrics, workflow sequences, editing and revision patterns, acceptance and rejection signals on AI-generated content, document interaction data, damages category selections, case type distributions, and other behavioral and telemetry data reflecting how you and your authorized users interact with the Service ("Usage Signals").
Cookie and tracking data: we use cookies, web beacons (pixel tags), local storage technologies, and similar tracking technologies as described in Section 5 below.
Email engagement data: pixels in our email communications may collect your email address, IP address, and the date and time you open an email or click links.
SECTION 2 — HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
2.1 Providing and Operating the Services. We use personal information to operate, maintain, deliver, and improve the Services, including processing Customer Input to generate Output, fulfilling orders, managing accounts, and providing customer support.
2.2 Communications. We use personal information to respond to inquiries, provide customer support, send transactional messages (such as account confirmations, billing notifications, and service updates), deliver security alerts, and communicate about changes to our Services or policies.
2.3 Service Improvement and Personalization. We use personal information, including Usage Signals and online activity data, to understand how our Services are used, identify trends and usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, personalize your experience, and improve the functionality, performance, and reliability of the Services.
2.4 Research, Development, and AI Training. We use personal information for research and development purposes, including to analyze and improve our Services and business operations. As part of these activities:
(a) We may create aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data from personal information we collect. We may use and disclose such data for our lawful business purposes, including analyzing and improving the Services, developing new products and features, and publishing industry benchmarks and insights.
(b) As an AI-powered legal technology company, we use information — including Customer Input, Output, Usage Signals, behavioral data, editing and revision patterns, acceptance and rejection signals, workflow interactions, and other Service interaction data — to develop, improve, train, test, validate, and refine our proprietary AI models, machine learning systems, natural language processing capabilities, deterministic analysis engines, damages calculators, jurisdiction databases, and other technologies that power the Service for all of our customers. This includes using patterns derived from how legal professionals interact with AI-generated content to improve the quality, accuracy, and relevance of future Output.
(c) Where we engage third-party AI infrastructure or model providers to support our Service, we contractually prohibit such providers from using your personal information or Customer Input to develop, improve, or train their own AI technologies for the benefit of their other customers.
2.5 Direct Marketing. We may use personal information to send you marketing communications about our products, services, events, webinars, and industry insights that we believe may be of interest to you. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time as described in Section 6.
2.6 Interest-Based Advertising. We may use personal information collected through cookies and similar technologies for targeted advertising across third-party platforms, as described in Section 5.
2.7 Analytics and Benchmarking. We may use aggregated and de-identified data derived from the Service to produce analytics, industry benchmarks, damages trend reports, and other statistical insights for internal use and for publication to the legal community.
2.8 Compliance and Protection. We may use personal information to: (a) comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal process; (b) respond to lawful requests from government authorities; (c) protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of Plaintify, our customers, or others; (d) enforce our terms and conditions; (e) audit internal processes for compliance; and (f) prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and other harmful or unauthorized activities.
SECTION 3 — HOW WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
3.1 Service Providers. We disclose personal information to third-party companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf, including cloud hosting, data analytics, email delivery, payment processing, customer support, marketing, and professional advisory services (legal, accounting, auditing, insurance). Our service providers are contractually obligated to use personal information only for the purposes of providing services to us.
3.2 AI Infrastructure Providers. We may transmit Customer Input and related data to third-party AI model providers and cloud computing platforms as necessary to operate the Service. As noted in Section 2.4(c), these providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their own models for other customers.
3.3 Affiliates. We may disclose personal information to our subsidiaries and affiliates for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.
3.4 Law Enforcement and Legal Compliance. We may disclose personal information to law enforcement, government authorities, courts, or private parties as we believe in good faith to be necessary or appropriate for the compliance and protection purposes described in Section 2.8.
3.5 Advertising Partners. We may disclose certain online activity data and device identifiers to third-party advertising partners to facilitate interest-based advertising as described in Section 5.
3.6 Business Transfers. We may disclose personal information in connection with, or during negotiations regarding, any merger, acquisition, sale of assets, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or similar corporate transaction. In such events, the acquiring entity will be bound by this Privacy Policy with respect to previously collected personal information.
3.7 Aggregated and De-Identified Data. We may disclose aggregated, de-identified, or anonymized data that does not reasonably identify any individual to third parties for any lawful business purpose, including research, industry publications, and benchmarking.
3.8 With Your Consent. We may disclose personal information with your consent or at your direction.
SECTION 4 — DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with our legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and as permitted by applicable law. To determine appropriate retention periods, we consider the nature and sensitivity of the information, the purposes for which it is processed, applicable legal requirements, and the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure.
De-identified and aggregated data derived from personal information, as well as AI model improvements resulting from training on such data, may be retained indefinitely, as they do not identify any individual.
SECTION 5 — COOKIES AND TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES
5.1 Types of Technologies We Use
Cookies: text files stored on your device that help us recognize your browser, remember preferences, and understand usage patterns. We use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until deleted or expired).
Web beacons (pixel tags): small transparent images embedded in web pages or emails that allow us to track page views, email opens, and click-through activity.
Local storage: technologies such as HTML5 local storage that provide cookie-equivalent functionality with larger storage capacity.

SECTION 6 — YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES
6.1 Marketing Opt-Out. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email or by contacting us at privacy@plaintify.ai.
6.2 Privacy Rights Requests. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable exceptions.
Portability: request your personal information in a portable, machine-readable format.
Opt out of sale or sharing: if our disclosure of personal information to advertising partners constitutes a "sale" or "sharing" under applicable law, you may opt out by contacting us or using the "Your Privacy Choices" link on our Site.
To submit a request, email privacy@plaintify.ai. We will verify your identity before processing any request and will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. You are entitled to exercise your privacy rights free from discrimination.
6.3 Limitations. In some cases, we may be unable to fulfill your request in full — for example, where doing so would impair the rights of others, interfere with our ability to provide a requested service, or conflict with our legal obligations. If we process your personal information as a service provider on behalf of a law firm customer, please direct your request to that firm.
SECTION 7 — SMS AND TEXT MESSAGING
We may use phone numbers to deliver service-related messages (such as notifications and verification codes), provide updates on waitlist status or account activity, and send marketing messages where you have opted in. We do not sell or share your phone number or mobile information with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. Your opt-in consent data will not be shared with third parties except as necessary for message delivery. You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP.
SECTION 8 — THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Our Site and Services may contain links to third-party websites, applications, and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service before providing personal information.
SECTION 9 — SECURITY
We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, regular security assessments, and employee training. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
SECTION 10 — CHILDREN
Our Services are not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18 without appropriate consent, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.
SECTION 11 — INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Our Services are hosted in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your personal information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Services, you consent to such transfer.

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under age 16.
12.2 Other U.S. State Privacy Laws. Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy legislation may have similar rights under their respective laws. We will honor valid requests in accordance with applicable law.
SECTION 13 — CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where required by law, by providing additional notice (such as a prominent notice on our Site or an email notification). Your continued use of the Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
